Start With the Problem
A dusty home does not automatically mean you need a stronger filter. Dust can come from filter maintenance, airflow, duct conditions, leakage or particles entering from elsewhere. Allergy concerns can involve pollen, pet dander, dust and other airborne particles.
That is why we investigate before recommending equipment.
We Start With an Evaluation
Before recommending filtration, we look at the existing filter and maintenance history, airflow, static pressure, return-air conditions, duct condition and manufacturer specifications. When appropriate, we start with a Video Duct Inspection to see what is actually happening inside the ductwork.
Sometimes filtration needs improvement. Sometimes the real issue is cleaning, duct correction or something else entirely. The goal is not to sell a filter. It is to understand the problem. Inspect → Measure → Understand → Recommend.
MERV and Airflow
Higher-efficiency filters capture more particles, but they also create more resistance to airflow. If a filter is too restrictive, system performance suffers. Cleaner air and proper airflow have to work together.

When it makes sense, we install a large media cabinet into the return-air side of the system, providing far more filter surface area than a standard one-inch filter. We work with AprilAire products and select the media and filtration level for the specific system.

Whole-home filtration can help capture dust, pollen, pet dander and other particulates. The correct filter depends on the home and system—not the other way around.

We determine the correct location and design the connection around the existing return system. Installation may require duct modifications, transitions or plenum adaptation; it is not simply cutting a hole and sliding in a box.

We evaluate the equipment and airflow to find the filtration level the system can actually support.
Every installation is different. The filtration system has to fit the HVAC system, not the reverse.
Electronic Filtration and UV
The right option depends on documented conditions, what the HVAC system supports and the characteristics of the specific product.
Sometimes the existing approach is appropriate once fit and maintenance are corrected.
A larger media cabinet can provide more filter area and longer service life when properly integrated.
Electronic whole-home air cleaners combine filter media with electronically enhanced capture. They may suit homeowners seeking more particle capture, but we do not recommend them automatically.
We evaluate the product, system requirements and potential for ozone or other by-products before making a recommendation.
UV-C has a different job. We install it for a specific reason, but do not lead with it for dust or pollen because it is not mechanical filtration. Some electronic technologies can produce ozone.

Later, during a difficult pollen season, they told us they felt very comfortable at home and credited much of that to the filtration system.
